Albany police are mourning the loss of one of their own. Officer Dean Johnson was killed in a crash while off-duty in the town of Knox Wednesday afternoon.
Police say he was on a motorcycle that collided with another vehicle.
Acting Chief Robert Sears tells NewsChannel 13 that Johnson had just joined the department last October and graduated from the Albany academy in May.
The chief says he was highly regarded by his peers and was proving to be an incredible asset to the department.
