BEDFORD, NY — A Westchester man was accused of stealing the identity and money from an elderly woman for whom he was working. State police said Andres F. Aguilar, 23, of Bedford Hills, was charged March 24 with first-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft and third-degree grand larceny, felonies, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Trooper said they received a complaint of fraud March 22 from an elderly victim.

An investigation found that three checks totaling $11,000 were fraudulently withdrawn from her account, police said.

Authorities said that the checks were stolen by Aguilar who then forged the woman’s signature and deposited the money into his own checking accounts.

Aguilar had recently been employed by the victim as a paid driver, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Court and released on his own recognizance.

Aguilar is next scheduled to appear before the court on March 25.
