Tallahassee teen sentenced to 10 years and 5 years of probation for armed robbery and carjacking

TALLAHASSEE, FL – A Tallahassee teen has been sentenced in connection to an armed robbery and carjacking in 2016.

Friday, 19-year-old Davarius Roberts pleaded guilty and was sentenced to ten years in prison followed by five years of probation.

Roberts was one of four teens accused of robbing a man at gunpoint outside of a Tallahassee apartment complex on September 4, 2016.

Less than an hour after the robbery, Tallahassee Police say the armed suspects then carjacked a woman along Old Bainbridge Road.

The stolen vehicle was later spotted and the suspects led police on a chase before crashing at Meridian Road and Meridianna Drive. All four suspects– Davrius Roberts, Tarae Thompson, Quindarius Smith and Deon Sapp– were taken into custody.

The suspects were 17 years old at the time of the crime but were later charged as an adults in the case.
