Texas Attorney General Ken Paxtonwho is facing 99 years in prison due to his alleged criminal activity—was confronted earlier this week by Damaris Gonzalez, a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient and one of the 800,000 young immigrants who stands to lose important protections if Paxton and the Republican leaders of nine other states proceed with their plan to sue Donald Trump if he does not rescind the program.

“Watch as Paxton twists and turns to avoid owning up to the consequences of his attempt to end DACA,”

notes immigrant youth organization United We Dream. But the simple fact is that if Paxton and other Republicans gets their way, Gonzalez and nearly 800,000 other immigrant youth will lose their DACA status and become vulnerable to deportation, despite many knowing only the United States as their home.
