A Springfield, Ohio dental office will provide free services to those in need as a way to give back to the community this holiday season.
Comfort Dental, 1270 Upper Valley Pike, will host its annual Care Day from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23.
Springfield is one of 14 locations in Ohio providing free services this year. The event typically falls on Dec. 24, but was moved up this year to allow staff more time with their families, according to a press release.
“It’s kind of like our giveback for Christmas,”
Springfield front desk staff member D’Andrea Smith said. “There’s some people out there who don’t have insurance or aren’t capable of having dental work done. We like to offer a small token to the community.”
Doctors will perform one free service per individual, including a cleaning, extraction or filling, Smith said. Patients must bring photo identification, she said.
Last year on Care Day, the Springfield office saw about 75 people, Smith said. Overall, Comfort Dental offices saw 4,000 patients nationally and gave away $1.4 million in free dental services.
About 300 Comfort Dental dentists and 1,300 staff members typically donate their time on Care Day.

The event is also being held at the company’s Xenia location.
