1 dead, woman injured after shooting in Seattle

SEATTLE – A man is dead and a woman was injured by gunfire in a shooting incident Tuesday morning in Seattle’s Interbay area, emergency officials said.

Police and medics responded to the scene, a condominium in the 3000 block of 14th Avenue West, at about 7 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired, said a Seattle Fire Department spokesperson.

Two victims – a man and a 75-year-old woman – were found. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Her condition was not immediately available.

Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson said the shooting appears to be a case of attempted murder and suicide. There are no other suspects in the case.

A neighbor said the man and woman are a couple who have been longtime residents of the condo complex.
